The new design, expanded equipment, and updated engines might seem fairly minor for the 2018 Ford F-150, but now that reviewers have their hands on it, reality is setting in. Once more, America’s favorite pickup has raised the bar. New grille designs, 4G LTE WiFi, Bang and Olufsen audio, and more safety gear aside, the gas-powered trucks are more powerful and efficient than ever before.

When it was unveiled eight months ago, the biggest news of the 2018 truck was the promised turbodiesel V6 which we’re told has an as-of-yet unspecified best-in-class tow rating. Given that the twin-turbo V6 introduced last year now can tow 13,200 lbs., its specs should indeed be impressive! But the other engines have gotten attention, too. Every mill sees a rise in torque and efficiency, in particular the popular 2.7-liter EcoBoost, which now gets an impressive 400 lb-ft of torque. A ten-speed automatic gearbox is standard on all models save for the base, which gets a new 3.3-liter V6 and six-speed automatic with 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway in front-wheel drive configuration.

Is it different? Yes. Is it better? Oh, yeah. Take a gander at the video above to fill in the blanks, or contact the knowledgeable sales team at our Ford dealership in Charlottesville, VA. We can answer any questions, and schedule a test drive appointment.
